How do monthly cut plans work?
You use 1 monthly cut plan when you create a new cut plan from a set of window measurements.
That monthly cut plan includes all available planning results for that same job input: single-roll, multi-roll, and roll-size options.
You can reopen the results, review the cut plan, print diagrams, change roll-size views, and compare available options without using another monthly cut plan.
What is a monthly cut plan?
You use 1 monthly cut plan when you create a new cut plan from a set of window measurements. Any changes in window quantities, sizes, or rows will result in another monthly cut plan being used.
What does one monthly cut plan include?
One monthly cut plan gives you access to the available planning results for that same job input, including single-roll, multi-roll, and roll-size options.
You can reopen the results, review the cut plan, print diagrams, change roll-size views, and compare available options without using another monthly cut plan.
When do I use another monthly cut plan?
You use another monthly cut plan only when you change the job inputs, such as adding or removing windows, changing dimensions, or changing quantities, and then create a new cut plan.
What's the "window sizes / job" limit?
It's the maximum number of unique window size rows you can include in a single cut plan. If you have repeats, use quantity.
If you hit the limit, split the job into phases (for example by floor, elevation, or room group).
What's the difference between single-roll and multi-roll?
Single-roll: plan the job on one roll width.
Multi-roll: split a job across multiple rolls/widths to reduce waste or match real inventory.
What does the demo include?
The free demo includes one flat glass job using the same core optimization workflow available in Solo and Flex. Enter measurements, compare standard roll widths, review film metrics, and generate cut diagrams and a window cut list.
Shop features, project workflows, and Shop settings are not included. No credit card is required.
What is film on hand roll planning?
Film on hand roll planning lets you enter the roll widths you actually have (and optional remaining lengths) so the plan is built around film on hand.
This is the Shop-tier differentiator and helps reduce over-ordering and waste.
Is this tool for architectural window film only?
It's built for flat glass installs (residential and commercial). If you're mainly automotive but do flat glass jobs too, this is still useful for planning cuts and footage.
Is Precision Film Systems estimating software?
Yes. Precision Film Systems can build an estimate from the job information you enter.
Add the customer, enter the windows, choose the film, set your pricing, and Precision Film Systems will use that information to create an estimate you can send to your customer.
The customer can accept or decline the estimate and add notes with their response. Precision Film Systems does not currently process deposits, collect payments, or replace your accounting system.
Can one job have multiple scopes?
Yes, with Shop. Divide one customer project by floor, elevation, film, crew, phase, install day, or another practical boundary. Each scope can keep its own windows, groups, selected film, pricing, photos, and cut plan while the complete project stays together.
Can Precision Film Systems plan for a Film Handler?
Yes, with Shop. Save Film Handler machine profiles, choose material-first or time-first planning, account for cutter-head changes and cleanup pulls, and create an operator-ready Film Handler Setup Guide for each job or scope.
Film Handler planning is a Shop feature and is not included in the one-job demo.
Can customers review and respond to estimates online?
Yes. Share a customer estimate by email, text, or link and keep viewed, accepted, or declined responses connected to the job.
Accepting an estimate records the response; it does not collect a deposit or process a payment.
Can job photos be organized by scope?
Yes. Shop can keep Job Photos with the relevant project scope so site conditions, glass details, and production context stay with that part of the job.
Job Photos are a Shop feature and are not included in the one-job demo.
I already have partial rolls in stock. Can I use those to build a cut plan?
Absolutely. With the Shop plan you can add one or more rolls (or remnants) from previous jobs so plans are built around what you already have.
Choose Film on hand mode and enter your roll/remnant sizes. If remnants run out, you'll get standard-roll metrics for what to order next.
Will the app tell me how many rolls of film I need for the job?
The app gives total linear feet needed for the selected roll size. Use that number to order a partial roll (if allowed) or multiple rolls.
Can the app be installed on a phone?
Yes. Precision Film Systems runs in a mobile browser and is also a Progressive Web App (PWA), so you can install it on a compatible phone for quicker access. A traditional app-store download is not required.
How does Flex work?
Flex gives you Solo's core planning tools with no recurring base charge. You choose a one-time 5- or 10-plan pack when you enroll, then buy another pack when needed.
Flex supports up to 20 unique window sizes per job and includes single-roll and multi-roll planning.
Do purchased cut plan packs renew or expire?
Purchased cut plan packs are one-time purchases, do not renew automatically, and remain valid for 12 months.
Your account shows the remaining purchased balance.
Do monthly cut plans roll over?
Solo's 25 included monthly cut plans reset on the subscription anniversary date and unused monthly cut plans do not roll over. Shop provides unlimited cut plans for normal shop use, and Flex uses purchased packs instead of a monthly allowance.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel through your Paddle receipt email (manage subscription link). You keep access until the end of the current billing period.
Can I upgrade, downgrade, or switch to Flex?
Yes. Plan changes are managed in your account. The app shows the effective date and billing details before you confirm; a switch from a paid subscription to Flex takes effect at renewal.
What happens if I cancel?
You'll retain access through the end of your current billing period.
Do you offer refunds?
Refund requests are handled by Paddle in accordance with Paddle's Refund Policy and applicable law. If you believe you are eligible for a refund, submit your request as soon as possible using the link in your Paddle receipt or through Paddle support.
Cancellation stops future billing, and access continues through the end of the current billing period unless a refund is granted under Paddle's policy or applicable law. See Cancellation and Refunds for details.
Do you explain how planning results are built?
We explain how to use the tool and how to read results, but we do not publish trade-secret internals.
Where can I learn the workflow?
Start with the workflow section, then use the Learning Center for practical planning articles while the docs are being finished.
